Recorded, but not remembered

A month in, the useful questions span meetings: “when did we agree to drop the Android launch?” or “what did the client say about the budget last quarter?” Each answer lives in one of dozens of recordings, and nobody knows which.

Meeting notes help, but they reflect what one person thought mattered while also trying to participate.

The cost shows up as repeated discussions, missed commitments and new teammates who can't get context without asking someone to summarize three months of calls from memory. A searchable archive turns “does anyone remember?” into a query with a timestamped answer.

• A note-taker bot that joins the call. Convenient, and it announces itself to every participant, sends audio to a cloud service, and sometimes isn't allowed by the other side's policy.
• The meeting platform's own recording and transcript. Useful inside that platform, but split across tools, and search across months is often limited.
• Shared notes documents. Low-tech and reliable, and only as good as whoever typed them.

Notes during the call, without a bot

Meetings mode (Pro) transcribes live from your microphone, from a browser tab's audio, or, in the Mac app, from both sides of a Zoom, Teams or Meet call. Key points, action items and decisions build as people talk. Voices you've named are recognized next time, so “Speaker 2” becomes a name. Nothing joins the call, and nothing is uploaded.

Already have recordings? Any existing recording can be processed as a meeting after the fact.

Then search across all of them

Every meeting lands in the same on-device library as the rest of your media. Search by meaning, like “pushback on the pricing change,” and get the moments, with timestamps, across every call. Filter to one speaker. Or put a direct question to Ask, the on-device assistant, such as “what did we decide about the launch date?” and get an answer that cites the meeting and the timestamp it came from.

A note on consent

Recording laws differ by place, and some require everyone's consent. A local tool changes where the audio goes, not whether you should tell people you are recording. Let participants know.

Meeting audio can also include people who never agreed to have it processed by a third party. Local processing avoids adding one more company to that list, which some clients and partners will appreciate.
