Professional and college programs have staff who tag every possession. Most youth, high school and club coaches have a folder of full-game videos and a Sunday evening. Building a five-minute film session from three games means watching all three.

The moments you want are usually specific: every corner kick you conceded, the play where the weak-side help was late, the timeout talk that worked. You remember them, but not the timestamp.

Scouting adds more footage: an opponent's games, shared by another coach or recorded from the stands. Finding their three set plays in two full games is the same search problem, with less time to solve it.

The tools coaches use

MediaFind is not a replacement for a full analysis platform: it doesn't track players, compute stats or draw on video. What it adds is search by description over every game and practice you have, on your own computer.

Searching a season of film

Add your game and practice folders. MediaFind indexes frames and transcribes any audio on your computer, which gives several ways in:

• Actions and visual scenes: “goalkeeper diving to the left,” “players lined up for a free throw,” or “huddle on the sideline.” Results depend on camera angle and distance, so a wide phone shot finds big moments more reliably than small details.
• On-screen text: a scoreboard, a broadcast graphic or a jersey number when it is legible in the frame.
• What was said: if the camera caught your own commentary or you narrate film afterwards, search “watch the left back here.”
• Sound events: crowd reactions such as cheering can point to the big moments in a long file.
• Related clips: once you find one good example, find others that look similar.

Build the film session

With Pro, highlight reels can stitch every moment you tagged into one video, which works for an end-of-season highlight film. For deeper editing, Pro can export search results as an FCPXML or EDL timeline for Premiere, Resolve or Final Cut.

1. Search for each teaching point and cut the moments into clips.
2. Drop them on the timeline in Create, the free built-in editor, in the order you want to show them.
3. Add a title card before each clip, such as “Transition defense”, and split or trim to the exact moment.
4. Render an MP4 to play in the team room or share with players through your usual channel.

Filming players, especially minors

Game film shows players, and in youth sports those players are children. Follow your league's and school's rules on filming and sharing, get parental consent where it is required, and share film only with the team. People and Faces, which finds every appearance of a person, is a Pro feature; for a youth team, consider leaving it switched off. It can be turned off, and all face data deleted, in one click.

Everything stays on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to make film searchable, which also means there is no team portal: you choose what to share.

Film of your own team from a broadcast or a league service may come with its own terms of use, so check those before cutting it into clips for social media.

Can MediaFind tag every play automatically?

No. It doesn't track players or log possessions. It lets you search the film by describing a moment, reading on-screen text or what was said, and jumps to the matches.

Does it work with phone footage from the sideline?

Yes, if the files are MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV or WebM. Wide, distant shots make small details harder to find, so describe big, visible moments.

Can I make a highlight video for the team?

Yes. Cut the moments, arrange them in the free Create editor with title cards and render an MP4. Pro adds highlight reels that stitch tagged moments together.

Is game film uploaded anywhere?

No. Indexing and search run on your computer with no account. Share clips only through channels your league or school allows.
