Privacy Notice

MediaFind processes indexed media, transcripts, embeddings, faces, notes, and searches on your device. MediaFind does not upload your library, shows no ads, and does not sell data.
Network access occurs when you request a public download, install an optional model, check for updates, activate or refresh a subscription entitlement, use the iOS companion over your local network, or turn on anonymous usage statistics. Checkout, subscription billing, and payment information are processed by Stripe under its own privacy terms. License fulfillment uses the subscriber email supplied by Stripe. When your device refreshes its entitlement, the licence service records the time of the latest refresh and how many refreshes there have been, so we can tell whether a subscription is in use. If you arrive through an affiliate link, Rewardful sets a 60-day referral cookie to attribute the resulting subscription; it does not track you across unrelated sites.
Anonymous usage statistics are off by default. MediaFind counts what you do in the app on your device (for example, how many searches you ran and whether they found anything, which features you used, and which exports you made) and keeps those daily counts in its data folder. Only if you turn on “Share anonymous usage statistics” does the app send them, every few hours, to MediaFind. Reports contain counts by day, the app version, your operating system and processor type, whether the install is on a trial, free, or Pro, the rough size and media mix of your library, the week MediaFind was installed, and how many days after installing you first reached steps such as a first search. They never contain file names, paths, search text, transcripts, names, faces, web addresses, or any identifier for you or your device. You can preview the exact report in Settings before anything is sent, turn sharing off at any time, and clear the local counts. The receiving service keeps only aggregate totals; it does not store your IP address or keep request logs. Cloudflare, which hosts it, necessarily handles your IP address to deliver the connection.
On mediafind.io, Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. We also count arrivals through links that carry campaign tags (such as utm_source), downloads, views of the pricing section, clicks on checkout buttons, and completed checkouts, with those campaign tags and your country as reported by Cloudflare. To avoid counting the same visitor twice in a day, your IP address is combined with a secret value and hashed; the IP address itself is never stored. Arrival, pricing, and checkout counts are not recorded when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
We also measure which Google ads lead to downloads and subscriptions. The site loads Google's advertising tag, which sets Google cookies and reports visits, downloads, checkout clicks, and started trials on mediafind.io to Google Ads. We keep the click identifier Google adds to an ad's link (such as gclid) with our download and checkout records for up to 90 days. Once a week we send Google the click identifiers that led to a trial, an activation, or a first payment, together with a SHA-256 hash of the subscriber email address supplied by Stripe, so Google can report which ads worked. Ad personalization is turned off for this data, and we do not use it for remarketing. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the site does not load Google's tag or keep click identifiers unless you accept in the banner; your choice is stored in your browser, and the Privacy choices link at the bottom of the page changes it. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the site does not load Google's tag or keep click identifiers.
If you gave Faring AI your email address, for MediaFind or for another Faring AI product, and agreed to hear from us, we may upload a SHA-256 hash of that address to an advertising platform such as Reddit or Google as an audience list, so the platform can show MediaFind ads to you or to people with similar interests. The platform matches the hash against its own accounts; we upload no addresses of people who did not agree, and we send no marketing email this way. To be left out, email the address below and we will remove you from every such list.
The iOS companion stores its server token in the Apple Keychain. Face processing runs entirely on your device and is entitlement-aware: face detection is on by default for Pro/trial installs, off on free installs, and face indexing is Pro-gated. It can be turned off at any time; mediafind people --forget deletes MediaFind's stored face and people records. Removing MediaFind does not automatically remove your source media.
