Make the shot you don't have.
Describe it, and MediaGen makes it on your Mac: the missing establishing shot, the thumbnail, the storyboard frame, the illustration you can't photograph. Up to four variants at a time, variations of any still, and a provenance record on every file. Nothing leaves your machine.
Describe. Generate. Keep the ones that work.
A calm desktop studio instead of a cloud tab full of credits. Every still is a PNG on your disk with a JSON record of how it was made.
Variants and variations
Ask for one to four takes at once. Like one? Make variations of it, choosing how far to move from the original. Reuse any prompt and seed to get the same result again.
Batches from a list
Paste a shot list, one line per shot, and get a still for each: a storyboard, a set of thumbnails, the illustrations for a talk.
Honest files
Each still carries a provenance record (prompt, seed, size, model, licence) and a Content Credential marking it AI-generated, so it can go into a project, a paper or a newsroom without pretending to be a photograph.
Your prompts never leave your Mac
MediaGen runs an open image model on Apple Silicon. There is no account, no server, no usage log anywhere but your own disk.
- No upload: the model, the prompts and the stills stay on this machine.
- No credits: generate as much as the Mac can; a still takes about half a minute on a recent Mac.
- Commercially usable: the model is Apache-2.0 licensed, and the record says so on every file.
The frame your footage is missing
MediaGen is the generation side of MediaFind, the private library search and editor. Use it on its own, or beside MediaFind's Create to fill a storyboard gap and drop the still on the timeline.
- Editors: establishing shots, inserts and thumbnails without a stock search.
- Researchers and journalists: illustrations for a readout or a story that show no real person.
- Teachers and speakers: a set of slides' worth of pictures from a list of lines.

What Mac do I need?
An Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) on macOS 14 or newer with 16 GB of memory. More memory and a newer chip make each still faster; a recent Mac makes a 16:9 still in about half a minute after the model has loaded.
Does it make video?
No. MediaGen makes stills. Local video generation is still minutes per second of footage on a Mac, and we don't sell what we can't deliver.
Where do the files go?
Into MediaGen's folder under Application Support, as a PNG and a JSON record side by side; "Save…" copies both anywhere you choose, and "Show in Finder" opens the folder.
Is it the same subscription as MediaFind?
Yes. A MediaFind Pro key activates MediaGen, and MediaGen's trial is the same 7 days. If MediaFind is installed, both apps share one copy of the image model.
