Everything it does, in under a minute

A real screen recording — search, Ask with cited answers, on-screen text, faces & celebrities, Knowledge & Insights, and jump-to-the-moment playback.

One private index

Search it fifteen different ways

You don't always remember the words. MediaFind indexes meaning, sound and pixels — so you can search by what was said, what was shown, who was there, or what it felt like.

How it works

From a folder of files to a searchable mind

No pipelines to wire up, no cloud buckets, no keys. Point MediaFind at a folder and it does the rest — locally.

1

Point it at a folder

Add any folder of audio or video. MediaFind handles the common formats and keeps watching for new files you drop in.

2

It understands it locally

Transcription, embeddings, keyframes, OCR, objects, speakers and chapters are computed on your Mac — nothing is uploaded.

3

Search, ask & export

Describe a moment, ask questions of your library, jump to the exact timestamp — or export the moments straight to your editor.

What it does

A studio's worth of tools. One private app.

Point MediaFind at a folder. It transcribes, embeds and indexes everything locally — then opens up every kind of search, recall and export.

💬

Natural-language search

Describe a moment in plain words and get ranked clips with exact timestamps — semantic, not keyword. The search you wish every recording had.

The AI runs here, not there

Frontier-grade AI, zero cloud

Everything that makes MediaFind smart — transcription, semantic search, summaries and the Ask assistant — executes on your own machine. Download the models once, then unplug the internet and it still works.

  • Local language model. Ask and summaries run on an on-device LLM you download once — no API keys, no per-token billing, no prompt ever leaving your Mac.
  • CoreML-accelerated transcription. Whisper-class models tuned for Apple Silicon, with word-level timestamps and confidence scoring.
  • Choose your engine. Pick a transcription and assistant model that fits your machine on first run — speed or accuracy, your call.
  • Verifiable. The core path opens zero external connections — and a built-in privacy check lets you confirm it yourself, any time.

Why MediaFind

The privacy of local, the power of the cloud

Cloud media tools upload your files to someone else's servers and bill you every month. MediaFind doesn't — and unlike other local apps, you can verify it and own it for $29.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything you might want to know before you download.

Does anything get uploaded to the cloud?
No. Indexing, transcription, AI understanding, search and Ask all run on your Mac — including the local language model that powers Ask and summaries. The only network activity is opt-in and predictable: a one-time download of optional ML models on first run, license activation and update checks, and any public URL you explicitly ask MediaFind to fetch. A built-in privacy check lets you confirm it: zero external connections on the core path.
Does the AI run locally too?
Yes. Transcription uses Whisper-class models accelerated on Apple Silicon (CoreML), and Ask and summaries are powered by an on-device language model you download once. No prompts, transcripts or media are ever sent to a server.
Can I export moments to my video editor?
Yes. Select any set of search results and export them as an FCPXML or EDL timeline that opens directly in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro — with frame-accurate in/out points, snapped per each file's frame rate.
What platforms does MediaFind support?
MediaFind is a native macOS app (Apple Silicon), signed and notarized, with Windows and Linux beta builds too. The mobile companion is a beta Wi-Fi client: Android installs directly as an APK, and iOS is planned for TestFlight.
Is the Pro license really one-time?
Yes. Pro is a single one-time purchase — no subscription, no per-minute fees. The license activates locally on your Mac and unlocks every Pro feature, forever.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new install includes a 7-day Pro trial — every Pro feature is unlocked from first launch, with no account or card. When it ends you keep a free tier for smaller libraries, or unlock Pro with a one-time purchase.
What audio and video formats can I index?
MediaFind handles the common audio and video container and codec formats. Point it at a folder and it indexes what it finds, then keeps watching for new files you add.
How does face recognition work — and can I turn it off?
People & Faces is a Pro feature that runs entirely on your device — nothing about your faces ever leaves your machine. For Pro libraries it runs automatically, and you can switch it off or delete all stored face and people data at any time with a single click. Free libraries are never face-indexed.
How do refunds work?
Payments and eligible refunds are administered by Polar, the merchant of record shown at checkout. Reach us at the support email with your order number and we'll help.
